LMS Highways proves their efficiency and precision in delivering CRCP concrete repairs.

Recently working on behalf of Balvac the LMS Highways team delivered a programme of CRCP repairs to the M60 North and Southbound carriageway. As we work through the list of projects that have been accelerated to be delivered whilst the roads are quieter, this stretch of road had been a nightmare for a long time with high traffic flows, restricted access and some design and build challenges.

Starting in early February, LMS Highways have been working on behalf of Balvac to deliver a Concrete Maintenance Project located on the M53.

Working between junction 11 – 12 on the M53 LMS Highway were instructed to remove old, damaged sections of concrete carriageway and prepare the subbase in preparation for the road to receive asphalt reinstatement. Along with this, partial depth concrete repairs and further life extension repairs such as thin bond and joint repairs were provided.

Back in May a light aircraft came down onto the A40 dual carriageway near Abergavenny, Wales. The occupants escaped moments before a fire took hold of the plane. As a result, the concrete carriageway suffered severe damage and required full bay replacement, joint sealing and new road markings.

Works included new kerbing, concrete bay replacements, white lining and joint sealing which perfectly demonstrates the company’s unique ability to deliver a wide range of services under one point of accountability. LMS Highways working on behalf of Coupe Line recently visited Associated British Ports, Southampton, to provide Fill & Overband Crack Repair to their damaged port access road.

Before AB Ports could have the excessively damaged access road re-surfaced, any crack deeper than 3mm required Joint Sealing to ensure a successful finish on the new road surface.

Working recently on the M23 northbound near Gatwick Airport. LMS Highways’ concrete bay removal process was put to the test.

The scheme was completed over 4 weekends with partial and full overnight closures resulting in minimised disruption.

Our video shows how the team removed a total of 1,200 tonnes (400 linear metres of concrete) over one weekend.
