Recently we showcased some Imprinted Surfacing completed by our crews which received a few questions, so lets answer in more detail.
What is Imprinted Surfacing?
It’s a fantastic zero maintenance alternative to block paving which can be used in a multitude of areas such as, roads, pavements and driveways. Imprinted surfacing has a multitude of benefits with its aesthetically pleasing presence really complimenting the underlying brilliance of this product.
Whilst most the country is in lock down and many places remain closed, LMS Highways crews have been making use of the empty roads and car parks.
For many businesses having a car park lined or line markings refreshed can be a challenging task due to the inability to completely close off these areas to customers and staff. Usually this means our crews have to work around cars, cordoning off areas at a time. This can become quite timely and sometimes affect their ability to complete the job that day.
Throughout the lockdown, LMS Highways crews have continued to deliver essential works to keep the countries roads and infrastructure fit for purpose. Repairing failing manhole covers is one example of the key services that LMS Highways provides.
Manholes and gullies are often the weak point in a carriageway or trunk road and with the UK’s ever greater traffic flows some ironworks are being subject to loads which they were often not designed to cope with or they have simply reached the end of their lifespan.
