LMS Highways proves their efficiency and precision in delivering CRCP concrete repairs.

Recently working on behalf of Balvac the LMS Highways team delivered a programme of CRCP repairs to the M60 North and Southbound carriageway. As we work through the list of projects that have been accelerated to be delivered whilst the roads are quieter, this stretch of road had been a nightmare for a long time with high traffic flows, restricted access and some design and build challenges.

In a single weekend the team were able to install over 200m³ of CRCP repairs, CRCP formerly known as continuously reinforced concrete pavement is constructed with steel reinforcing bars placed within the concrete, continuously along the entire length of the pavement without any transverse joints. The result is a continuous, smooth-riding surface capable of withstanding the heaviest traffic loads and the most adverse weather conditions.
  • 8 on site shifts and 7 off site for CRCP prefabricating
  • Approximately 1,000 tonnes of concrete removed from site
  • Over 380 m³ of concrete poured
  • Over 22 tonnes of steel installed
