LMS Highways' Line Marking Extruder Keeps Busy Torbay Road Flowing

The start of what is always a busy summer season in South Devon is never the right time to close the main road between Paignton and Brixham.
Working on behalf of a main contractor, the brief was to provide over 1.5 miles of centre and edge markings completed during evening hours. Always up for a challenge, LMS Highways were able to deploy their not so secret weapon to ensure a quick job with zero road closures.
LMS Highways' line marking extruder is a smaller version of a multi-mark system. Because of its nimble size and exceptional talents, LMS Highways are able to utilise the machine in compact areas - such as country lanes, smaller housing estate roads and access lanes plus in low working height areas such as tunnels and bridges. Its compact size means it's even capable of working on cycle paths!
The beauty of using the extruder is that in many cases, the team can perform high-speed line marking using just a rolling convoy or short-term stop and go traffic management. This keeps busy roads flowing with minimal disruption to motorists and local residents.
The extruder makes light work of laying down centre and edge markings on main roads, trunk roads and motorways. Line widths of 100mm, 150mm and 200mm flat line marking and rib lines of 150mm or 200 mm can be provided with remarkable efficiency - performance equivalent of 7 kilometres per hour.
Jun 2018 Hoburne Holidays' story started over 100 years ago so it's only fitting that such a long-established business would choose to work with an experienced specialist like LMS Highways to keep their parks well-marked and organised.
